Tissue Culture


The thrust of research is to bring the technique of Plant Tissue Culture in the development of procedures for regeneration, development of elite plants, micro propagation of rare, endangered, threatened and overexploited medicinal plant species. Mission and goals:

Ø Development of cost effective micro propagation protocol for faster multiplication of Rare and endangered taxa.

Ø Improvement of plantation techniques of medicinal plants.

Ø Micro propagation and somatic embryogenesis of the medicinal plants.

Ø Ex situ conservation of endemic and economically important plants.
